Poll Monitors Needed!

The Asian Law Caucus (ALC), a member of Asian American Center for Advancing Justice, needs help recruiting poll monitors for the upcoming June 5 primary election in Sacramento and Alameda Counties. All volunteers must attend the one and a half hour training session prior to election day and remain non-partisan during the time that they help. The April 2012 edition of Nota Bene is now available! This edition features, among other things, a recap of ABAS’ Anniversary and Awards Dinner authored by Judge Russell Hom, an article by Board Member Josh Kaizuka about cuts to the judiciary, a spotlight on ABAS’ mentoring program, information about upcoming events, and a recounting of Operation Protect and Defend written by Administrative Law Judge Dee Brown. Thanks to ABAS co-editors Jeff Ogata, Teresa Chan, and Stephen Lau for all of their hard work putting this great edition of Nota Bene together!

Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on May 3, 2012. Additionally, applications for a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District in Sacramento are being accepted until 4:00 p.m. on April 18, 2012.
